We are paid when you buy through a link here
Every link from this site to a supplier's store carries a tracking code that identifies the referral as ours. When somebody follows one of those links and places an order, the supplier may pay us a commission on it. That is how this site is funded, and it is the only way this site is funded.
It costs you nothing. The tracking code does not change the price you pay, and it does not enrol you in anything. If you would rather not use one, type the supplier's address into your browser directly — every company on this site is listed with its plain domain name for exactly that reason.
What the commission does not buy
Placement is not for sale. No supplier on this page paid to be listed, paid to be ranked where it is, or saw its review before it was published. Commission rates differ between suppliers and we did not order the list by them; if we had, it would look different, and the two suppliers at the bottom of it would not be on it at all.
We also list a company at number one that pays us nothing and never will, because it has closed. That entry earns this site no money and it is still first, which is the plainest demonstration we can offer of how the ranking is built.
The rest of the incentives, stated plainly
There are two other things worth knowing. First, some suppliers run public affiliate programmes and others do not; a company without a programme cannot pay us at all, and that has no effect on whether it appears here or where. Second, we publish no discount or promotional codes on this site, from any vendor, so there is no second revenue line hiding behind the reviews.
Our editorial rules are on the methodology page and they exist to keep the commercial arrangement from touching the copy. The one that matters most: no invented consumer reviews, no invented testimonials, and no fact about a real company that was not read off that company's own site.
